Super Bowl Ads: Everything Sucks.
Things that didn't suck:
The Google Ad: Not obnoxious, fantastic storytelling, and it showed how to use the product properly, even if it was Google.Dorito's Ads: Nothing great, but nothing godawful either. Dorito Samurai was funny, though.Things that did suck:
Every other ad: Pretty much every other ad. I mean, seriously - what the hell. There were maybe a couple other not awful ones (Betty White/Abe Vigoda Snickers ad wasn't bad), but how bad were the ads this year? They made the Tim Tebow ad seem not like an abomination. Especially since there was a real abomination... OH MY GOD THE AUDI GREEN POLICE AD:
How awful was that? I officially have no respect for Audi for making this commercial. I renounce any environmentalistic tendencies I may have ever had. I'm going to start using disposable styrofoam plates, and then burning them to heat my apartment. Also, Cheap Trick can go fuck off for allowing that awful bastardization of their song. Science damn you.Then again, I think that this may be the perfect counterpoint to the Focus on the Family Tebow ad - yeah, your kid may be the next Tebow, but he could be the next environmentalist douchebag asshole. Better safe than sorry. That may be the most awful thing I've ever written. But not as awful as the ad, which makes me feel better about myself.
